A guide to Thermal Imaging

Thermal Imaging, also known as Thermographic Testing and Thermography, can be used as part of a preventative maintenance programme, but it is not a substitute for Fixed Wire Testing. It can, however, provide useful information if it’s scheduled between periodic inspections.

How does Thermal Imaging work?

Thermal Imaging uses thermal cameras to identify problem areas with electrical equipment on your premises. Potential problems can often be found due to excess heat being released by an electrical system.

By comparing the temperature rise of the fault with the same component operating under the same loading conditions, the severity of the problem can be determined.

Using Thermal Imaging, we can accurately identify existing faults with your electrical installations. It also helps us to predict any potential issues that may go undetected during routine inspections.
