When it comes to the safety of your business and your employees, prevention is better than cure. And the definitive way to prevent as many risks of fire as possible is to regularly conduct and update your Fire Risk Assessments.

BAFE Fire Risk Assessment

A Fire Risk Assessment is a legal obligation for all premises that employee five or more people

OR if your setting is open to the public, this needs to be documented and regularly reviewed and documented according to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Fully certified & accredited

When do I need to conduct a Fire Risk Assessment?

Your Fire Risk Assessment should be reviewed on a regular basis to prevent any risk of fire, but you should also reassess your fire measures if:

  • The building’s purpose has had a material alteration
  • The building structure, such as the layout, has changed
  • There has been a change in the occupants
  • There are changes to work procedures – such as the introduction of new equipment
  • There’s an increase in storing hazardous substances

What are my next steps?

Once you’ve completed your Fire Risk Assessment, you’ll need to have this documented and the document should include your findings. Once you’ve outlined the potential risks and hazards, you’ll need to produce an Action Plan in the instance of a fire.

The point of this plan is that in the event of a fire, everyone within your business will be aware of what they need to do so the premises can be evacuated safely.

We understand that this can be a lot to take in and may feel like an overwhelming task, but that’s why we’d like to offer our support.
